What is Table D’Hote?

Table d’Hôte can be translated as, “dining at the table of the family”. It is much more than a meal served in the anonymous dining room of a hotel. With good food and good wine goes good company, that of the hosts and your fellow guests, making the evening something special.

In order to ensure the meal we provide suits your taste as much as possible, we will ask you about particular likes and dislikes at the time of booking. We also need 24 hours notice if you would like Table d’Hôte on the night of your arrival.

The Food     

We serve a varied vegetarian cuisine, incorporating seasonal produce in a range of styles, including adaptations of traditional local fare.

The produce we use is organic wherever possible. Fruit and some vegetables come from our own garden when in season. We ensure that all eggs are free range, and the cheese we use is suitable for vegetarians.

If you are vegan, let us know and we will cater for you accordingly (see below).

The Wine

All our wines are suitable for vegetarians, and are produced locally. Sample the wines made from the region’s famous grape varieties - Pinot Noir reds and Chardonnay whites. There is also the less well known Aligoté white variety. This is often served with Crème de Cassis, a blackcurrant liquer, as an aperitif, called Kir.

Breakfast

Help yourself to homemade jam to go with your croissants, part of our continental-style buffet breakfast, accompanied by a good strong cup of coffee (you may need it after the wine), tea, or one of the range of herbal teas we provide.

If you are a vegan …

Rest assured that we are fully aware that a vegan diet is one that is completely free from animal products of any sort. We will ensure that all the food and drink we serve you meets the Vegan Society’s criteria for vegan food. All you have to do is relax and enjoy your meal! We also ensure that the products supplied in our guest bathrooms are animal-free.
